At the moment my life just feels like im living it for other people. Its like i dont actually have any value. I want to feel like I matter to myself. Everything feels like it dosent matter anymore but I want things to matter because before i had dp I cared a lot about what I cared about, if that makes sense.

Hey Illiterate,

I like to point out, that if you didn't know that you do matter, truly, then the lack of that innate knowing you are worth something, it wouldn't bother you to have the emptiness.

Self-esteem can be very central to mental health. A self-help book I found very useful is Evolving Self Confidence by Terry Dixon.
