I was reading on my bed. A thought pops up.

'What if I'm not in 2018,what if I'm in 2015'
'Holy shit. I'm in 2015 again!'

Yeah.

Any insight will be appreciated. Have you been through something similar?

Do you really believe it's 2015? Or do you acknowledge it is just a random thought?

If it's the latter case, then simply acknowledging the thought and that it is kind of silly should suffice.

If the former is the case, well, it might be time to see a neurologist.

You know well enough that existential thoughts don't listen to reason.

Dpers think they're in comas..dead..dreaming..the only ones in the world...etc

It's all silly on face level.

Why a neurologist?

Well, no, not exactly. Most DPers (from my experience) don't actually believe those things, rather, they describe their experience AS IF they are dreaming, the only ones in existence, etc. If not, then perhaps I've been mistaken all these years, and I don't really have DP, but something else (which could very well be true...my experience is in many respects different from most on this forum).

Anyways, I'm not sure exactly what purpose it serves, but every time I see a neurologist s complain about memory issues, she asks me the year, who the president is, etc.

I was just trying to gauge your experience of the phenomenon you were describing. Does it just freak you out when you think that way?

I'm constantly lost with respect to the time, day of the week, and occasionally the month, but I'm usually good with knowing the year, although New Year's always feels really weird to me.
