Like a deep sadness. Usually I'm too disconnected to really feel it but I am right now. It's scary. I hope it passes okay and I hope you all are well.

I was listening to the radio today and people were calling in and giving their favorite Christmas songs and albums. I would have said that the Carpenter's Christmas songs had the most meaning for me. "I'll be home for Christmas". "Merry Christmas, Darling". For me, Christmas is mostly memories. Memories of happy times and people who no longer exist. There were times I spent Christmas alone, far away from family. and I was mentally ill. The sadness in Karen Carpenter's voice as she sang these Christmas songs seemed to hint at her struggles with anorexia. Karen Carpenter died at age 32 from a heart attack attributed to complications from anorexia nervosa. Merry Christmas, Darling! Happy New year too!
