Lost again
Broken and weary
Unable to find my way
Tail in hand
Dizzy and clearly unable to
Just let this go

I am surrendering to the gravity and the unknown
Catch me heal me lift me back up to the sun
I choose to live

I fell again
Like a baby unable to stand on my own
Tail in hand
Dizzy and clearly unable to just this go
High and surrendering to the gravity and the unknown
Catch me heal me lift me back up to the sun
I choose to live, I choose to live, I choose to live

Catch me heal me lift me back up to the sun
Help me survive the bottom

Calm these hands before they
Snare another pill and
Drive another nail down another
Meaty hole please release me

I am surrendering to the gravity and the unknown
Catch me heal me lift me back up to the sun
I choose to live, I choose to live

You've inspired me....

Lift me from the darkness,
Bring back the light,
Shattered,
Like a broken mirror,
Fighting back the fright,
Dismantled,
By the thoughts that flow,
Thrown back into a world,
Of I do not know...
Fighting for each day,
And each night,
Just once again to see the light....

I find it annoying that these lyrics are much less metaphorical to someone with dpdr and that most likely the person who wrote them had an insignificant attachment to what they wrote. The only lyrics with any cred at this point are radiohead and other legally insane songwriters.

SB, DarkenedRoses...thanks so much for taking the time to share something that is very personal. I, too, like the lyrics "I choose to live".

Of course creating antagonistic bullshit is sooooo mindless, ya know.

Read, Breathe, Smile...

This is another perfect circle song that reminds me of dp/dr, I guess maynard likes to write a lot about dark themes, like the kind of feeling associated with a persons depsonlisation, or like with this song a sense of dissapearing , the lyrcis may not sound like much but its the way he sings the lyrics and the muscial scapes that the other band members produce that make this song and a lot of there other songs strike a nerve with me personelly.

a perfect circle - vanishing

Disappear
Disappear
Higher
Higher
Into the air
Slowly disappear
No, no longer here

Disappear
Disappear
Thinner, thinner
Into the air

Never really here
What that never
Like a thought brushing up against a sigh
Floating away
Floating away [repeated]

Vanishing like a cyan sunday
Disappear
Disappear
Vanish, vanish into the air
Slowly disappear
Never really here

Floating away
Floating away [repeated]

Maynard is actually quite insane , heres the evidence

maunard as a "lady"

maynard paints himself blue

maynard talks pyscho babble

This song explores a more contemporary version of Jungian psychotherapy involving high colonics

ziggo, I've seen your list on your web page and you like almost all the same stuff I like and like you I have at times been known to be a musical snob (btw, that's crazy you've heard of Clearlake....I actually know Jason out of that band)... I love Radiohead, but even Thom Yorke's lyrics dont come close to relating the way I feel...(Although 'Let Down' and 'How to Disappear Completely' did come close) not that that bothers me. The thing is, everybody is coming from a different experience and perspective and for some these words might ring a bell. Whether or not this particular songwriter's words are sincere, only he will know, but that's not the point really. If they resonate with some people then that's all that matters.

maynard is an addict. hes addicted to drugs and strippers. which is what hes most likely refering to in the lyrics. nailing meaty holes and popping pills is pretty straitforward. but the song is trying to convey helplessness and the depths of self distruction/bottoming out and wanting/needing help from anyone, loved ones, gods, angels etc. pleading and crying out.. i want to live! i dont want this anymore, this self distruction, this self inflicted sumliminal mindfuck. at least thats what i read and related to. but who knows... it could be about being a contract laborer. surrendering to gravity, falling off the roof, nailing his finger. but i doubt it.

falling free.. i posted the dissappearing lyrics a while back in the old site. yea APC has alot of songs that we can relate to. hell.. i got my surname from the song sleeping beauty!! :)

Delusional I believed I could cure it all.. for you dear
Coax or trick or drive or.. drag the demons from you
Make it right for you sleeping beauty
Truly thought.. I could magically heal you
Far beyond a visible sign of your awakening
Failing miserably to rescue sleeping beauty
Drunk on ego truly thought I could make it right
If I kissed you one more time to help you face the nightmare
But you?re far too poisoned for me
Such a fool to think that I could wake you from your slumber
That I could actually heal you
Sleeping beauty poisoned and hopeless
youre far beyond a visible sign of your awakening
Failing miserably to find a way to comfort you
Far beyond a visible sign of your awakening
And hiding from some poisoned memory
Poisoned and hopeless sleeping beauty

Gems post made me want to rethink my way, then gavin made me feel better so i'm not changing a thing 8).

Clearlake Cedars is one of my favorite albums. Its the best britpop i've heard in ages. For some reason I like the song 'we all die alone', because my perverse mind swims in that type of crap. Thom Yorke's mind is the closest representation of mine i can find in music, so we differ in that area. 8)  8) :( :( :D

You post APC lyrics on a DP board yet don't post the most obvious one :p

3 Libras

Threw you the obvious
And you flew with it on your back
A name in your recollection
Down among a million, say:
Difficult enough to feel a little bit
Disappointed, passed over.
When I've looked right through,
To see you naked and oblivious
and you don't see me.

Well I threw you the obvious,
Just to see if there's more behind the
Eyes of a fallen angel,
Eyes of a tragedy.
Here I am expecting just a little bit
Too much from the wounded
But I see,
See through it all,
See through,
And see you.

So I threw you the obvious
Do you see what occurs behind the
Eyes of a fallen angel
Eyes of a tragedy
Well, oh well..
Apparently nothing.
Apparently nothing at all.

You don't see me
You don't see me at all

Really love Tool/APC, and honestly a lot of the lyrics can really apply to depression/DP, which is the best thing about them IMO.

i love tool but i think apc is more me. girly, fluid, beautiful. yes that song can apply to dp even if it doesnt.. if only by the way maynard sings it. his voice has so much emotion without sounding annoying like that chick from evanesence. no offence to anyone that likes them.. for some reason her whiny voice gets under my skin and the music is nothing inovative its like everything else ever made. i cant stand bands like that. i dunno why im ranting about this i think its cause i heard that my immortal song this morning and i just dont get why people are so into them. it could be cause i saw their day in the life story on mtv.. and the chick has her own wardrobe stylist, her own hairdresser, and her own makeup artist. it just left a bad taste in my mouth. if you need a makeup artist to do your goth makeup just how goth can you be?
