I had been having in for like 6 - 7 years and called it a "feeling unreal". I found some other people on a forum talking about it too using the same expression. And I searched again about it only a few times in some years and gave up (there was a lot less information about it back then). I even saw a psychiatrist and she didn't tell me anything about it. Only later did I google it again and found out how it was called and what was the list of symptoms and it did match very well.
So it kind of upsets my when therapists ask me where I found out what it was, I answer "on the internet", and they immediately think I have hypochondria and made up my symptoms. It happens almost every time. I think they don't like that I name it before they do. They have their little ego.
