I suppose the best way to explain getting on top of things and the dp condition is not only accept,but then move on and make yourself as physically well as possible with food and exercise.The company of friends 2 helps a miniscule degree.The inward looking continues but at least you dont feel anxious.Its when the short term solution of booze becomes a crutch,the molecules of reality buzz horribly around the place the following day.Physically you feel sick,guilty and more lost.The inward looking focuses on the hangover.All the good work and steady progress has been sabotaged by your own hands.Motivation to do anything is gone,especially exercise.I would advise anyone with chronic dp to quit booze totally for 6 months and see the dramatic improvement you make by doing this.It would have saved me from self torture and despair in a big way if I followed this simple plan.
