hello everyone.

sorry if i have posted this in the wrong place.... :?

i hope it is ok for me to join in here....as i have not been diagnosed with dp or dr....

but i have definately got the symptoms...

i have had GAD and agoraphobia for over three years but have only had therapy for them for the last year...

but everything has got worse since i had an allergic reaction to some tablets to relieve anxiety and depression.

the feelings of dp and dr are getting unbareable and i am getting a fed up of people telling me/confirming the symptoms i have and not really giving me anything to go on to help....

i know i am the only one who can help myself in the end but it i need a stepping stone to get myself going if that makes sense....

anyway i am rambling now  :D

thank you for reading this and i thank you so much for this site.... :)

take care all.

Welcome, welcome!

Nobody needs to be "diagnosed" with dp in order to be welcome here. If that was required, there would probably be about four of us posting here, lol...

We know when we are experiencing depersonalization symptoms, and they are just so darn scary - much scarier than anxiety or panic, because so few people talk about this unreality that it makes us convinced we're really going crazy.

DP can certainly start in reaction to some drug - the mind, already under massive anxiety, can just reach Overwhelm when some drug makes the brain feel even more odd. If you have the proclivity to dissociate, the "logical" response of the mind is to take you a step away from yourself = dp.

Tell us more about how you feel in the dp state.

and WELCOME!
Peace,
Janine

this is one of the best descriptions that i have ever read. I think it describes what happened to me perfectly.
