Hello everybody,

do you suffer from headaches? If so, please let me know how often and where your headache is located.

I have permanent DP/DR since 1 year and I experience hard to describe diffuse headaches almost everyday. It usually starts immediately after waking up. The headache is usually located at the front top of my head, but as I said, it is very hard to describe and even to exactly locate the pain. Maybe it could be described as a mixture of tension and burning. It is very aggravating, but I can stand it.

You can also describe your headache in your own words in the comments if you want.

I hope this poll will be helpful for everybody who is experiencing DP/DR together with headaches and now knows he is not the only one. :)

Best wishes from Germany!

@hotlab: I have heard from a lot of people who have DP/DR that also suffer from headaches, so I think there is definitely a relation between headaches and DP/DR. Headaches can be caused by stress, anxiety or maybe a problem with your (neck) muscles. My headaches started at the same time my DP/DR started. In my case, I think the DP/DR directly causes the headaches, but I don't know what causes my DP/DR.

I have headaches regularly, every other day. It is pretty much the same. It is concentrated to my temperal lobes, stretching behind my eyes. It is more distinct on my left, but worse on my right. Also, if you think like on top of your head, in the middle, and straight down, somewhere Inside the brain really, I can sense like an isolated aching, like a little heart poundering. It is like pulsating, almost twisting, ache. It almost feels like a belt of pressure. Hope it helped. I have it as I write, that is why this was easy for me to answer.

I'm almost sure that headaches have some relation with DP because depression and stress brings constant headaches and they are both related to DP. I have headaches everyday for almost 3 months already, normally its worse when I wake up but this last week it started getting better, maybe because i started taking fluoxetin which is an antidepressant.

I also had headache problem last year that used to occur twice or thrice in a week at that time. Then my doctor suggested getting permanent treatment with acupunctures. So I got the treatment at acupuncture lorne park clinic and since then I haven't had any headache.

I have 24/7 headaches. The location varies from time to time, but most of the time it's a migraine always located in the right side accompanied by head pressure, fullness and itching in both ears.
