just accepted this condition and not trying to heal anymore and continuing living...
i think i just have to. because i really dont see any chance to recovery.
i think i will be this numb forever

I have accepted that its under control most of the time with the help of medicine...

BUT!!!

That is only because my symptoms are now bareable....

I have also accepted that I will have this crap until the day I die....Only because I have tried everything in my power to get rid of it completely and the only thing that ever did anything was the medicine I take daily....

This does not mean that other people cant recover 100%....Its absolutely possible to recover 100%....Everybody is different!!!! Remember that!!!!

I think acceptance is one of the first steps to “recovery”. The more you try to fight it the worse it will be.

Acceptance for me would be accepting that I don't have control and that maybe this is all just fantasy. As half the time I'm not convinced this is real anymore. Problem is I just want to be in the real world. To be convinced I have dp would actually be a blessing to me as it would take a bit of the burden off my shoulders.

If you can accept DP you are SO lucky. It's a great sign. Acceptance is a big step to recovery.

It's like:

Ok. I have DP and I don't LIKE it but I acknowledge that I have it. Now I'll just go live life.

You don't know how much that helps!

Craziest thing about DP is the fact it constantly tries to convince us that its something else more sinister...

Took me years to accept that what I have is DP....But when I totally accepted that it was DP its power started to deminish...

KInd of like when an alcoholic or addict accepts that they have a problem...

Technically its called the 1st Step in recovery....I believe it applies to all mental illnesses and addcitions...
