OK I am trying really hard to figure out if it is DR that I have or there is something wrong with my eye sight.

Does anybody else with DR find that if they look at a straight edge, such as say, a lamp post, or, the edge of there computer monitor, or desk, that instead of one clear line or edge, its kinda fuzzy, almost like there is two, but not, like its hard to bring your eyes into alignment or something, in a way like double vision, but its not, you can see one edge, but, I dunno I cant really describe it, its like you have trouble bringing the edge together.

I dunno I cant figure it out.

am I alone in this strange vision of things?

I totally get this too and I have had every kind of eye exam possible and they say my eye sight and eyes are perfect. I will suggest though because I only get this from time to time, have your blood pressure checked.

It only happens to me when my blood pressure is up, and when I mean up I mean like 180/120!! (its supposed to be 120/80)

Just a suggestion.

Ah well mine is like constant, that's just the way I see now, since the day my vision went funny OR I went into DR, its been like it since, constant, no change.

My blood pressure however is indeed an interesting subject, it is being taken several times a day, but it varies between 110/60 when i am relaxed and when I am feeling a bit Worried, it can go up to 140/80 (sometimes 150/80 after exercise)

The interesting thing is this, I had a panic the other evening, got really stressed, I had had allot of caffeine that day and had quite a stressful day, I was taken to the hospital because of the pressure feeling in my head, I was extremely stressed and my blood pressure was 162/82 which is high, so my thinking is this, when I got really stressed ages ago and went into DR, it was not DR at all, it was a stroke, and it has caused my vision to go like this, and stay like it.

I am thinking this is a possibility, and a very worrying one. but with you being the only response to this post and happening to mention you know exactly what I mean, but only when your blood pressure has shot up, this seems like really bad worrying news for me.

Ok I guess I should have clarified when I mean from time to time, I mean it cane last for months, weeks, days consistantly. I just meant that it does come and go and I am only guessing about the blood pressure since it was the only other thing that had changed during the time I first got it but the fact that I have been checked out for this symptom and they say I'm OK should be a little comforting.

How long has this been going on? And if it will ease the worry, do get checked out, it can't hurt. And I will mention the first time mine let up was after getting checked out, maybe it's just the anxiety.

I also get extremely bad visuals occasionaly upon waking up, it literally looks like I'm tripped, but it only lasts about 5-15 minutes then I'm fine all day, do you get this also?

Nah I am usually quite good in the morning with how I feel, but it seems no matter if I feel, good/relaxed/stressed/panicking/etc my vision has been exactly the same since it changed, I have been to 2 opticians and 3 doctors and they all think my eyesight and eyes are fine, so I was hoping it was what DR looked like, kind of.

anyway for a moment let me mention that 180/120 is very worrying, when I had my blood pressure checked the other evening, the doctor wanted to give me beta-blockers there and then (BP medication) I am concerned about the height of your blood pressure allot, mine was 162/82 when I was very stressed, and daily its not drastic, I admit its high, as I said when I am relaxed its about 110/60 -130/70 the later is high but I have been under so much constant worry lately since I got this Anxiety lark, I am sure its effecting my BP to be honest. when I am quite worried it has been around 146/78 etc, this seems to be when I worry, which is quite allot now, but my mom is a nurse and she is taking my BP 4 - 6 times a day, she thinks i may be able to get away without medication if I make sure I clean my diet up, exercise etc and sort my life style out and for now avoid completely stressful situations (hard with panic attacks)

but I think you need to get yours checked out, and be sure you are not having TIA's (Transient ischaemic attacks) which is basically a mini-stroke which gives temporary symptoms but basically indicates the higher probability of real stroke, do some research on it on the net if you like but mate, I would be even more worried than I am now if my BP was 180/120.

Sincerely all the best mate.

Thanks for the concern! I am on blood pressure meds now (Benicar HCT) and it is much lower and I have already been to the emergeny room once over it, so all of my medical professionals are aware of how high it is getting and we are working to lower it. Thanks again though!

Ah ok mate, was it high like that regularly? or just on occasion?

because I am fighting my hardest to avoid medication at the moment, my steps invole

NO Caffeine
NO Alcohol
MINIMAL Stress
Proper Diet
Daily Raw Garlic + Omega 3, 6, 9s
Exercise

I am only 30 so having to take BP medication would be very upsetting for me as I am Athletic, so far it seems like there is a possibility I wont have to, we are making up a report, basically taking my blood pressure 5 or 6 times a day and writing the down the time it was taken and the reading, we will do this over the next week or 2, then we will take it to the doctor and ask him if he thinks I need medication to control it, or if I should be able to not have medication and be safe.

Yeah mine was high consistantly and I take alot of meds, horrible diet, extra pounds, etc. They said I could prbably get off it too with some life style changes. Thats hard though ya know and mine was too high in the mean time not to take anything.

Good luck.It sounds promising for you.
