Do you find it extremely hard to do so? Do you have any cognitive deficits that are exacerbated while working or make it harder to work? I find it very very hard to work and keep a job. My cognitive dysfunction makes everything feel near impossible.
I "worked" for about 8 years after I got severe symptoms, and I put "worked" in parentheses because there were many things that I just couldn't do reliably, had trouble with sleep and waking up, couldn't remember things, and it was as just a rollercoaster of severe anxiety and depression. In and out of mental hospitals trying to have a life. Six years ago I said "fuck it, I can't do this anymore" and I stopped pretending like I could function. Though I still have to go to work a couple times a month in order to have health insurance (which is useless because I can't get doctors to believe me anyways...at least not those that accept insurance).
