I have this sensation where I feel like in place of my brain is a lump of fat.

And I can feel it in there, pressing at the sides of my skull.

A dull, stuporous feeling.

I suppose it's basically what you're talking about, I just have a different description for it.

No suggestions to offer, however, only commiseration.

When I feel like this I try & do some breathing exercises to get the oxygen flowing & splash cold water on my face. This helps me.

Yeah, this happens to me from time to time... these "inner head sensations" are what disturb me the most. Go figure. Anyone who thinks something's wrong with their brain would too. But, I just say "Good ol' DP up to it's old tricks again..."

I get this but not all the time. I usually find its due to tiredness, sinus, pms or just that i need to take a day off and listen to my body. Are you eating well and drinking enough water. Migraines can cause it also. It is a very unpleasant feeling. Mine usually only lasts a day at a time and i usually sleep and rest when i have it. Unsure if mine is dp related or not.

Cotton wool brain here too.
Maybe its worth tring natural treatments like B12 or ginko biblio

Many people report that talking anti seizure drugs such as lamactil or neurontin help with brain fog.

I'm led to believe that under certain times of duress, parts of the brain involved with executive function (free thought, memory etc) can shutdown. This leaves only the more primitive areas of the brain involved in the fight or flight response active in order to speed the reaction process when a perceived threat is sensed.

This may very well be responsible for the "cotton head" of foggy brain sensation that we're feeling.

Can anyone back me up on this claim?
