Hello,

I have ordinary floaters and I don't care about them, but when I look at the sky or any really bright background really, there's like millions of these little mini-floaters flying everywhere in my field of vision. It's like a constant explosion of mini-floaters of doom.

Also, I see everything in a slightly different (darker) shade with my left eye.

I've been to an eye doctor but he didn't find anything wrong...I'm convinced he was wrong, though.

Anyone else have either of these symptoms?

I'm pretty sure floaters are caused from stress, so there probably isn't a problem with your eyes. Also, about your eye seeing in a different shade, that's normal. One eye sees colors lighter and the other sees darker. I think that's why 3D glasses have the blue and red "lenses".

Kroko,

Floaters are caused by small clumps of protein in the vitreous humour. You did the right thing getting them checked out by an optician -- although unlikely, there could have been a retinal detatchment (especially if you only saw them in one eye). Did your doctor check for abnormalities on the back of either retina?

If you're that worried about them then seek a second opinion. They usually fade with time, but you can always try anti-oxidants and thistle milk as remedies.

I too got these after a heavy mushroom trip. As far the million-floaters-of-doom, I'm not too sure what you mean. If you see static within your field of vision, I can definitely relate. It sucks, but there are worse things which could happen to us.

Kroko,
Floaters are very common with anxiety and/or if you're taking a benzo. I had a whole bunch of freaky dancing floaters this morning when I was tanning in the sun. I also have the darkened vision thing indoors, and am hyper sensitive to light outdoors, again it's just anxiety.

I've seen floaters against a white sky or backround since I was a kid.they may be there the rest of the time but I only ntice against contrast. Mildly annoying cuz nobody knew what I was describing. Try not to give them the power of gloom though Kroko. And thanks to....sorry forgot to hang onto your name--for the ideas of how to treat. Interesting. Take care Kroko.

ME TOO!!! I am so glad someone else has this, i thought i might have a legitamit disease. i went to the eye doc and everthing and he said all was well. i think the reason one side is darker (at least for me) is that one side sees blues stronger and one side sees reds stonger. My freind said they just bend the light differently.

i forgot to add: does anyone ever see grey thingys that are all going towards the same point like a vortex or something. i've always seen this when i look at the sky but recently it's gotton bad enough that i'll see it while i'm driving and it will distract me to a dangerous degree.

i will try to better describe it: it's like tranparent grey blood-cellshaped thingys that are moving away from me and converging at whatever point i am looking at. sometimes i think it is energy leaving my body or my soul escaping but don't wory i know that's not true.

I get kinda like a vortext kinda thing too.

When I am outside or in a really bright place I start to get this vortext.

I get like a feeling that a "transparent river" keeps washing its ways out of the corners of my eye to the center. Its kinda grey hazy, it looks like transparent water moving towards the center of my vision.

Its odd and it has been bothering me lately.

Yep> I know exactly about the little tiny circular floaters with the dark center, when looking at the bright sky... I also have the normal little ameoba looking ones. Eye doctor said they are a normal part of aging also as protein breaks loose. Do have to KEEP AN EYE on THEM though they could clump on the Retina and cause a detatchment, Just get your eyes check on a regular basis and if you have a sudden veil or curtain look, or flashing go see the Eye Doc right away.
