Has anyone here taken dexedrine? It was just prescribed to me, but I haven't gone to get it yet. I'm kinda scared to take it cuz it's a stimulant and I don't know how wired it might make me or what kind of side effects it might bring. But I have to do something cuz this Klonopin is wearing me out. I am so fucking tired all the time it's unbelievable.

Also... does anyone know if Wellbutrin makes u more awake? My doc prescribed that too to go along with my Prozac. I was complaining of fatigue so I don't know.

But now I'm gonna be on way too much meds. Dexedrine, Prozac, Klonopin, Wellbutrin, and Xanax. God that's crazy. I don't want to take any meds but everytime I stop I feel sick and dizzy. Withdrawals shouldn't last a whole month should they? That's about how long I stopped last time.

No I'm taking Prozac, Klonopin, and for emergencies Xanax. I will be taking Wellbutrin and Dexedrine also whenever or if I ever decide to go to the pharmacy.

OK. I wasn't sure I had understood you.

Did your doctor explain to you what each drug is for?

Presumably, the Dexedrine is to counteract the Klonopin, which again, presumably you need for seizures, is that correct?

If I am not mistaken, Dexedrine used to be over-the-counter years and years ago. It only got a bad reputation because it was the "speed" of its day. If your doc's kosher, I'm sure it's going to make you less somnambulant. I'm talking about the Dexedrine. The Wellbutrin is another antidepressant and your doctor must think that some action of it will give you something else that will make you feel better.

But ask him or her. And it's a good idea, since you would be on a lot of drugs, to have your doctor give you something in writing that states what, how much, and why you're taking each of those drugs.

Dexedrine's been around for a long time, so it's not unknown at all.

I take Adderall which is a cousin of Dexedrine, another stimulant. I find these types of stimulants to be helpful for me, as I also have the symptom set of ADD (not sure if I REALLY and TRULY and TOTALLY need the meds, but for now they give me enough "push" to go out into the world and get my stuff taken care of, therefore I feel better about myself)

If you still need the klono right now, I would say go for the dexedrine to balance it. Stimulant + a benzo can be helpful to get you through the hard times...and don't worry, you won't need that combo forever! I used to take Valium + Adderall and then i got to the point where I outgrew the need for a daily Valium. I take Xanax maybe once a month before my period, that's it.

So now I just take the Adderall and for the most part I'm fine.

But yeah, I'm one of those weirdos that responded really well to stimulants. If you have ADD symptoms, the stimulants will, of course, help with those. And they don't make me more anxious at all! Sometimes anxious in a different way, like being more awake and wanting to go out and do stuff, but they don't add a weird/bad anxiety. I guess that's more motivation than anxiety.

Wellbutrin I'm not sure of. It wasn't my drug of choice but it helps some. Dexedrine is immediate-acting, the Wellbutrin might take a couple weeks to get the full effects, so just be aware of that.

Thank u all for the info. I wonder why my doc didn't just prescribe adderall... that I've heard of. Oh well. I just hope the dexedrine doesn't make my thoughts race even more than they do now like the provigil did.
