I've read most of it, but am now listening to it on cd. It seems to have strong correlations to what's going on with us. Yes, we are extremely in the present moment, but our minds are not calm, stuck in them, and instead of just letting our environment be, we are labeling it and judging it, along with every thought and idea that pops up. I think that our ego's are completely identified with our ways of thinking, and that it's affraid of letting it go. For it'd be it's death.

Has anyone read this? Comments? Ideas, thougths?

Hey there... I don't have any comments on Tolle's ideas because I haven't read the book though I understand it is quite popular. I just wanted to add that I do not feel I am in the present and as such I have been practicing Vipassana meditation for a few months now. Have you heard of it? The idea with this type of meditation is to stay with the breath. If you wonder away in thought, come back to noticing your breath when you realize you've wondered. It's difficult but definately trains one to be in the present. Do you have any words of wisdom to report from Tolle? Does he give concrete ideas of ways we can be more in the present?
