My therapist mentioned I might have this at our session today. She said it was probably from smoking PCP and that the chemicals that were in the drug are still in my body. Does anybody know anything about drug-induced psychosis, I'm freaking out...

I have a diagnosed psychosis if that is any consolation however I showed a particular vulnerability to it through my teens eg prickly personality, prone to stress. The psychosis manifested itself during a period of adjustment in my life when I was 18.

In your case I would take hope as if it is drug-induced and not innate then once the chemicals leave your body the prognosis is good and you'll feel yourself again.

In my case I have had to see a psychiatrist ongoing now for 12 years and the treatment programme has been long-term with the use of anti-psychotics. In your case I hope you won't need the use of such powerful drugs.

Good luck

you are NOT a drug induced psychotic-trust me, I have seen them. Many professionals lack empathy when it comes to dealing with previous drug users. They always view these types of disorders as connected to drug use because they lack a better explanation. See a new doc, preferably one who understands that even people who have never touched drugs can have identical symptoms.
