My therapist mentioned I might have this at our session today. She said it was probably from smoking PCP and that the chemicals that were in the drug are still in my body. Does anybody know anything about drug-induced psychosis, I'm freaking out...

i never smoked PCP, but as you know smoked lots of weed. I thought psychosi is when your insane??????

Kari, please, don't freak out. That's by far the worst you can do. If I were you I would figure out how the body metabolizes PCP (how long it is in your system). I am sure it is on the web somewhere. I have drug-induced DP but it's not because the drug is still in my system (smoked pot 10 years ago and not since). I think it's because my brain chemistry failed to fully 'reset' once the marijuana left my system (but that's just a theory of mine and some doctors researching drug-induced DP).

yeah Soul, I was doing okay until this diagnoses, which could prove it's all mental but I just can't stop crying... i feel like i screwed up my life and at the age of 18. This is so depressing. Right now, life doesn't even seem worth it anymore.

^ i feel the same way half the time & i know many others here do to so your not alone obviously. If you logically think about it, i don' think that we have psychosis because well we are not psychotic.

I know that this post is kinda old but i wanted to reply anyway.
Kari, If you had smoked enough pcp to cause a chemical disorder believe me you would have known it. It's nothing like a pot high. From reading your prior post I think that you worry to much. The bad thoughts about wanting to kill people..everybody has those. It's an untapped dark side. Don't fear the dark side..say to yourself :it's a thought but that's not really me" and then froget about it. You're a good person and that's why these thoughts bother you so much. If your surroundings look smaller or bigger or you can't cope with leaving the house then worry! lol. Well i couldn't sleep and just thought i'd drop a line.
