I saw someone make a comment on here saying if your dpdr is from anxiety that when you take a benzo your symptoms should go away while on it. I’m pretty sure my dpdr is from anxiety/ocd/depression but my symptoms (drunk vision and disconnection from things and people) do not change at all when I take a benzo :/ I hope they are wrong

Benzodiazepines won't cure dp there just for temporary anxiety/panick attacks

No I understand that but I got nervous when they said it should take it away while on a benzo and mine doesn’t so I got nervous that I don’t even have this then idk

As „nicewon“ said benzodiazepines just dampen anxiety for a while, they don‘t cure the underlying problems which cause DP. Just as an example, if someone is suffering from social phobia and is absolutely horrified of contact with people due to trauma, benzo will just be a temporary relief. No pills will cure the social phobia. The DP will remain until you deal with the underlying problem.

Most people will still feel dissociated while on benzos, they just won't feel anxiety with it.
