Not everybody has the maturity to deal with things that are beyond their understanding. They may become frightened, they may think you will lose control, and they may have their own inner demons that they are afraid of. That's why I think the best advice is to talk about these things in a support situation such as this or with a mental health professional only.
I need to learn to keep my DP and relationships seperate, and not let DP control and take over. Before my DP started, I'd probably have reacted the same way. I guess I need to give them a break. :?
