About a year and a half ago, I was going through some intense struggles. All the problems in my life chose to intersect at the same time, and as a result, I was under extreme stress. One afternoon, I took a nap. When I woke up, I felt incredibly out of it. I felt like I was a in dream state. Convinced myself that it was just grogginess from sleeping, and took a shower. And then I went for a walk outside. I felt totally disconnected from reality. The people and things I was walking past were going by in a blur.

Thought it might go away if I went to sleep. I woke up the next morning with the same feeling. This was when I knew something was terribly wrong. I looked up my symptoms online and learned about DP/DR.

I've been living with this condition since then. There have been times where I don't really notice it. Other times, it's quite strong.

One thing I have noticed is that its effects tend to be less severe when I am around other people and being social.

I just hope to one day get my past self and clarity of mind back for good.
