Thought people might be interested on a feature in a UK gay mag about a film called Tarnation by a guy called Jonathan Caouette. It's a self-made documentary that shows how he "learned to deal with his own depersonalisation disorder". This is just one of the topics in the documentary - it's not all about DP. Asked the question why he used a third person narration throughout the film, he says "Using a third person narration was more an expression of what depersonalisation disorder was like".

John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig creator) and Gus Van Sant (who I'm sure needs no introduction) are exec producers. It was at Sundance apparently and also at the London Film Festival. Just wondered if anyone has seen it. It's out in the UK on 11 April. I'm sure it won't get a major release in the UK but it might be on at a London arthouse cinema.

For the Ontarians out there, I know it was playing in Toronto at Varsity VIP and some other place. I was going to look into seeing it last weekend but was sick.

Rev, you're so hip...consorting with movie stars and the like...

I had no idea that this movie was even about dp. Please, no one reveal the ending until after this weekend. I want to be surprised.

It's been playing here in New York for nearly 5 months = at one of the art film houses..has kind of a cult following now, lol..

It's really good - but as Ken said, disturbing. the boy's mother is psychotic (probably schizophrenic). So you WILL see clear psychotic behavior, speech, etc...and it's REAL, not acting. That's the aspect that could be disturbing.
