When I get up in the morning, my DP symptoms are almost gone. The symtpoms get worse during the day and are worst in the evening between 6pm and 10pm.

Is this change during the day "normal"?

I am glad you posted this, becasue so many have said the opposite. I am 100% normal upon waking and the day goes fairly well (unless I am under artiificial lighting or have typical triggers..like talking too long to people) but slowly building up with symptoms until about 4 PM, when I turn into a pumpkin. The symtpoms do not abate usually until I go to sleep.
One of the many medical communitys attempts to solve this for me was a "hypoglycemic" all day sugar testing, for many peeps blood sugar goes down at this time. But of course I was normal. Most people do experience this low time during late afternoon, but my symtpoms are heavy dr and then dp, not jsut some low level fatigue. I often have wondered if anxiety..as it builds up during the day...kind of limits out in te body and the body gives up. But what is so strange is that this 4 pm start happens no matter if I at work or play, walking in the woods or shopping, stressed or totally at ease. It is always comes
anyway.

Mine is crap all the time. If there is a time it gets better, it is at night o after I meet with my therapist. My DR is really bad at night.

For me its really bad from the second I wake up. It's the very first thought the moment I open my eyes and it doesn't stop. it's an all day obsessive, self analyzing thing. Not one minute goes by where I'm not feeling chronic DP. when im trying to fall asleep at night, it's the worst. I close my eyes and feel as though my body is not attached to my brain. i move my arms and legs to analyze it and i'm dissconnected.

It's getting worse by the week.

^^ Same for me in regards to feeling the dp/dr hitting me hard in the morning and then staying in as rather constant state for most of the day, being indoors in my house alone for a few hours though later in the evening my dp seems to subside a bit, As I think being around lots of people in daytime makes my dp go into overdrive, but it seems the best time for me personelly to be DP free is in the evening sometimes, but sometimes also get very strange drifting feelings somewhat simliar to what Chris was describing in the post above.

Well this is how it works for me, right when i wake up it feels the worst like crazy blurry vision and dp thoughts, then when i start feelin more awake i feel as if its gone. But the problem is i wake up with the feeling and it takes a while for my brain to start working right, but as the time goes by my mind gets more tired. It all depends on how much sleep i get at night if i get little sleep i feel like crap big time throughout the day. Im currently experimenting with sleep drugs that help me sleep calmly without any disturbances. My theory is that if you sleep well, then in time you should wake up dp free in the mornings and therefore not think about dp in the morning and think less about it throughout the day, eventually healing it and moving on. So far... Ive used benadryl and it has made me worst, i have used russian sleeping pills and they have toned down my symptoms id say by 12 percent. I have used DMAE a drug that produces neurotransmittors through the liver and it has eliminated all symptoms in the morning, only used it for 3 days but it has improved my sleep and mood.
