When i first becamed dr'd/dp'd over 4 years ago i was also dp'd in my dreams. For the past year or so i am no longer dp'd in my dreams. Has this happened to anyone else and does it mean anything or nothing at all?

I frequently dream that I try some treatment for DR/DP that doesn't work. A few times a year I also have this awful dream that my symptoms get so bad that I'm completely incapacitated. In both those dreams I have DP/DR, and it's even weirder than what I have when I'm awake.

Does the fact that we dream about DP/DR completely blow Freudian analysis out of the water? I went to a therapist who wanted to do a lot of dream work. She'd get so pissed off and exhasperated when I'd tell her about these dreams. She seemed to think I was making them up so that I could talk about symptoms. I think she was just threatened by the idea that dream work was going to be utterly useless. We totally hated each other.

For some reason I never dream about my DP/DR... I have recently, however, been haveing very strange dreams...

For example, the other night I dreamt that I rescued my cat (who got outside) from a lion that was on the street!

Last night, I dreamt that there was this massive hurricaine blowing a house away that my wife and I were in. I vividly remember looking out the window and seeing trees and stuff flying by.

Very strange. I NEVER remember my dreams. But for the past week or so I have remembered my dream every night.

I always have the same theme in all my dreams every night for the past few years. I dream that i am always being chased by someone or something, usually a crocodile, snake, spider or great white shark. I always got away from them, but for the past 6 months or so i have never been able to get away, they are always right behind me or i am in their mouth. But i am no longer dp'd while dreaming, i feel normal.

I've had horrible DP dreams, normally to do with vision, which isn't that strong a symptom for me really, when I'm awake. I dream that time slows down or that I can only see in sepia, and it's that sense of claustrophobia and horror. I don't have day to day life with dp dreams, which I think is what you mean. But I have some amazingly pleasant trippy dreams too.

Hola,
Recently with my DP I have had some, dare I say, BIZARRE dreams...although I cant recall dreaming about DP, I can honestly say the one about the penguin on the surf board really had me scratching my head!! And THIS mind you, is without the aid of ANY type of drugs or alcohol! Hmmm...I think it's time to schedule an appointment with my therapist.
