dp/dr and thyroxine?

Hey guys, I have hypothyroidism and I've seen discussion on how this can be related to depersonalization. I've had non-stop depersonalization for 7 years, there's been bad times and better times, but since I started taking levothyroxine for my thyroid (three weeks) it's been really bad continuously. I've read that dp can be one of the side effects of taking thyroxine. Isn't it supposed to help with the dp, though? Any similar experiences/ideas?

If you post this in the pharmacology section I'm sure more people would know about this. :)
I don't have any experience with this medication, or with hyperthyroidism, but I do know that a lot of medications that cause side effects take a while to kick in before they become effective, and that if you suffer side effects, many are temporary In the case of drugs that have the potential to alter brain chemistry, sometimes things get worse before they get better - your brain needs time to adjust to the influx of chemicals and find solid footing. I also think that like any "injury," the effects of DP take time to heal, even once you've started treating the source of the problem. Your brain has gotten into this pattern of thinking, and it's going to be hard to break out of. Keep your chin up. Have you tried therapy?
