I was went to Walmart today. Normal day, everything was cool. Was just there to buy some snacks. Got to the checkout line and I saw a couple of old friends of mine. They were asking all kinds of questions like where I've been and stuff. Because of my social anxiety and dp I just wanted to get out of there and not say something stupid. So I told them I had to go because I had to be at work, which was a total lie.

Anyway, once I was out of the store and was walking home something weird happened. Things got fuzzy and dreamlike. And when I finally when I got home and tried to unlock the door, I found that I couldn't. My hands weren't cooperating right. I could barely hold the key straight. It was like they were out of sync with my body.

I don't know whether it was from that incident or that I drank a sierra mist which had stevia in it (I've never had it before but I know Aspartame and Sucralose cause it)

It's gotten a little better, but my memory's shit. I'm not sure what happened. This sounds like Depersonalization Disorder, which scares me. Has anyone else had an incident like this. And if so, what has helped you?

Happened to me IN a Walmart as well. Big stores are a trigger for me and cause intense bouts of depersonalization pushing out of body.

Don't dwell on it, only adds to the stress. It happens.

So is ur dp on and off it sounds like? When u said u saw ur friends and got worried to talk to them because of your social anxiety and "dp" THEN u had a dp attack after it and things got fuzzy, weird and u were out of sync with ur body...does that mean u werent dp'd before u talked to them? mine is always like that so I'm wondering does urs come and go depending on a situation/stress etc. mine is always there no matter what so I wanna understand how others experience their dp
