Hi,

Not really sure how to explain this, or if anyone can relate,

but when something stressful happens when you have DP, is it common to 'climatise' to it more easily than before the dp. Like you get used to it quicker, for instance something terrible has just happened in my family, and its like ive got used to it quite easily, and cant really remember how i felt before, or cant imagine things being different than they are now
Wondering if anyone can relate to this?

Must say for myself stress and dp don't mix.Stress tends to mostly increase my dp and no I don't deal with anything as well as I used to.

Isobel,
Perhaps this quickening to adapt to new stressful issues is one very small dp compensation for you.
Lord knows I personally can't say I've found any.
Sometimes when hard times are upon us we can get so locked into them,it's difficult to see light at the end of the tunnel.

When I look back on my life,I can recall so many stressful times.
Today thank goodness the feelings have faded and they are just bad memories.

What a difference a day,a month,a year makes.

All the best,cheers Shelly
