Hi i've not posted here for a long time but needless to say i've still got dp/dr I first experienced it in october 2002 and all this time later i'm still not rid of it,my symptoms have decreased over time but it's still there i can go through spells of being almost dp free but then it comes back but not as bad as it used to be...my concern is this possible to stay with me for ever? have any of you managed to 100% get rid of it.

hi boy

i'd say i'm about 95% ok these days :) and there are people on the site who are 100%ok. it sounds like you're moving in the right direction. i think my remaining level of dp may be due to being on an anti-d although i'm not ready to taper off it yet. are you taking any meds?

Pdr, sometimes I wonder if my remaining dr is from being on an anti-depressant. Because I still feel a slight fog. And it's like we want to be 100% back to normal but aren't we gonna feel a little different anyway being on an ad? I don't know. What are you on?

It can take 1 day, 1 week, a year, a decade or 20 to 100 years, but you can still get 100% better. No it can't last forever. All things are temporary. Even life. Hang in there.

That made me feel better. I think we are all very scared that this will never go away. It is hard to convince yourself that it will. When someone close to you dies you think you will NEVER recover, and when your hear is broken into a million pieces you think it will NEVER mend, but it does. Even though it feels like this will NEVER go away, this too shall pass.

i'm on zoloft/lustral 50 twice a day. i'm not ready to go off it yet as this level of dp is manageable and i'm not brave enough to see where i am without it. what are you taking?
