I dont experience anxiety, haven't done since the begining of my period of dissociation three and a half years ago. I think, beyond the trigger/s and after the anxiety subsides (however that is achieved) dissociating is a psychological experience in itself.
Just like there are many ways to arrive at back pain and it is not always possible to eliminate the cause, we can often only aim to alleviate the symptoms.
