I read online somewhere that caffeine and related compounds make you less self-conscious... and we all know we could use that.

Maybe its just the placebo effect, but i truely found caffeine really helps.

I drink like 3 mountain dew cans a day (mainly cause i like the taste) and coffee in the morning to wake me up.... but i find the more i drink the less the DP is

Can anyone relate?

I have more than my share of daily caffeine, and it offers NO relief whatsoever..
Tone it down a bit, especially if you think its worse. I read that high doses of caffeine have the adverse affects of low to medium.

At low - medium doses concentration is inhanced, while at high doses, it gives you sort of like ADD.

Better concentration (on the external world) could be the reason it helps.... or maybe it doesnt, who knows

I've tried that, too. I just don't think caffeine is my problem. I mean, i don't notice it getting worse after a cup of coffee or anything.

I notice a slight change in my dp after caffeine.. I have read that caffeine is bad for anxiety. But however I find after a pepsi my symptoms dissipate some also. Maybe its because caffeine gives me energy, energy makes me do more, The more I do, the less time I have to think about myself.. :?

Any kind of stimulant is virtually guaranteed to make anxiety worse.

One of my GP's, in the dim and distant past, even recommended wearing sunglasses to dim any unwelcome stimulation. I didn't know if he was taking the piss or not. Still don't.
