Just curious if anyone else is taking Lexapro? What dosage do you take? My doctor just upped me from 10 to 15 and then she wants me to go to 20. I'm scared of the change, but it does seem to help. I'm in a hard place with this dp right now, and the depression and anxiety are miserable. Please don't post any negative stuff about Lexapro cause I'm scared enough already...
Thanks friends,
Lori

If you're already doing better on a certain amount, then increasing it is really not a danger at all. The "worst" that will happen is you'll be too tired, or too groggy or just feel kinda lousy and that will tell you if the dose is too high.

But if you're fine on 10, and go to 15, and feel fine on 15, then 20 is going to be fine for you, too. Might really reduce the anxiety and obsessive thoughts. Again, the worst? it will make you too tired and you'll decrease it again.

Peace,
Janine

Hi,

I was on Lexapro for a few months. Most people will tell you its a very effective and safe drug. For me tho, it seemed a bit weak so I decided to try Paxil instead. I never ran the dose all the way to 20 tho so maybe I just didnt get high enough to get the full effect. Keep in mind your PRIMARY symptoms are the depression and anxiety and Lexapro is very effective at treating both of them.

I have been on Lexapro since the day it arrived at the drug stores. It was the first med that I was able to stay on. It has proven to be effective for me. I am in the process of getting off of it because I want to see just where I stand on my own as far as anxiety and depression. So, I can also tell you if you choose to come off at some time, it is a doable thing.

Wishing you the best.
