Do you have schizophrenia? What Kenc127 said is correct. You can, of course, have varying levels of insight into your hallucinations, but as a hard and fast rule, psychosis is a break with reality and reality testing. In between psychotic episodes, some schizophrenics have a hard time reconciling themselves with their illness, but some dont. Usually, with medication, a certain level of insight and acceptance can be reached. I've been around many psychotic people, and I speak from experience as well as book knowledge.
