I can normally sleep through anything: somebody drilling the walls; banging nails; you name it - I can sleep through it. But I've got NO chance of getting a wink tonight, because Lance is snoring away again! Sigh! Honestly now, he doesn't sound human... he sounds like a beast! The worst thing is, he doesn't just snore as he inhales, but also when he exhales. It sounds like one long, continuous snore. I think cigarettes are to blame, so I was thinking about how I wish he could give them up, when I came up with a good idea for battling Dp/Dr...
Has anyone seen those old advertisments for Nicotine patches? They're about giant cigarettes (people in costume), who jump out from dark alleyways, etc, to catch smokers by surprise. Then the person who is wearing a nicotine patch always has the strength to punch or kick the hell out of the ciggie! LOL
Anyway, I believe that this is a great way to think about beating a smoking habit, and also a brilliant way to help us all try to beat Dp/Dr or other mental problems. In particular, I think it could work wonders for helping OCD, because it wouldn't be too difficult to visualise punching someone in a 'number' costume, or in a 'light switch' costume, etc., etc..
I'm hoping that with lots of practice, I'll eventually be able to visualise beating the hell out of almost anything that troubles me.
Does anyone else reckon it'd be worth a try? If so, have you got any ideas on how we could visualise the symptoms of Dp/Dr?
