When I concentrate on something and it has nothing to do with DP, such as trimming my dog, my DP often gets worse, which is the opposite to what is supposed to happen when you distract yourself! Does anyone else get this...?

Also, has anyone thought they have some kind of circulatory blood problem that causes the DP? I think this a lot. One big reason I guess is because if I laugh or cry intensely my DP worsens and I get a headache. Sometimes even if I talk too much. Or if I hold my neck in a bad position, like this one time at a barber shop when the barber washed my hair, I had to hold my neck in a sink by supporting my neck against the edge of the sink.

Thanks.

Its 7:57 am. I'm drunk. Enough said about sleeping. As for concentration...i haven't been to a single class in about a month...seriously. I show up for tests and when i need to hand in a paper. I've maxed out my attention span on this post and now its time to leave.

I don't really have trouble concentrating, it's just that when I concentrate on something it's like the blood circulation that already feels problematic becomes more so and my feeling of depersonalization increases.

I have the EXACT same thing Kroko...
If I bend down my head I feel the blood almost hurting my head, crossing my legs can block the blood flow to them.
Talking loud makes me breathless, laughting makes me dizzy and DP'ed.

My theory on that is that : (tell me if it applies on you)
Because of my DP/DR, I don't do much sport or physical training, wich can cause dizziness and DP while laughting and moving too fast sometimes because my heart is not in good shape.
And I smoke cigarette too so, it does not help for good blood circulation.
Could also be the cause of the dzziness while laughting.

I went to a bar last night and only speaking louder than usual, the smoke in the air, the people all tossed up together...my DP got really bad at some point...but got better later 'caus of the distraction (cute girls) :)

I'm constantly freaking out about my heart...
I always felt that DP/DR mimics a major failure in a vital organ like the heart...like if there was not enough blood to the head...

I forgot this...

IF I do intense exercisse, like bicycle for more than 30 minutes at a good pace, I have a hard time gettin gmy head up...'caus I'm a bit bended on my bike and when I stand straight on it I feel all messed up...dizzy.
And when I stop after 30 minutes of exercisse thats when my DP is at it's worst.

the dizziness after exercises is most likely that you are not warming down[slow gentle exercise at the end of intense] it is really important to do this cause if you dont it can cause blood pooling that is what causes the dissiness and worsens the dp.......ALL WAYS WARM UP AND WARM DOWN......try it next time.....it should help relieve that problem :)

Hope this imformation is useful to you

Yeah, after riding my bike for a while I have the worst DP of my life for about a half an hour to an hour. Riding a treadmill is fucked up too because i get tunnel vision for a good 15 minutes after i run a couple miles.

I almost always have trouble concentrating, regardless, but it's always far worse when I'm out in public or when there's a lot going on around me. When I'm alone in my room, which I usually am, I'm better...though I still have a lot of trouble holding myself to tasks other than reading, pretty much.

I do a fair bit of roleplaying (D&D, World of Darkness, etc)...and strangely enough, while RPing I'm also usually very 'solid' and can concentrate, but I think that's because, since I dwell deep in my own head most of the time anyway, RPing isn't all that much different. *shrugs* RPing is about the only time I can really gain any measure of solidity and concreteness from my thoughts though...all the rest of the time I'm spacy and often just on autopilot. I figure it's because the way I often dealt with things was to just to pull deeper into my own thoughts and basically had me living in my own little fantasy world most of the time, so when I'm reading or RPing, I'm not really leaving that world, so I'm comfortable. *shrugs*
