I've tried harris harringtons program, i've done santos barrios exercises, I've read complex ptsd from surviving to thriving, and many other books but I still deal with Dpdr, yes my emotions slowly come back at times but i still feel like there is a glass inf front of my eyes, one of my therapists says it could just be fatigue but its the worst feeling ever. I've had it since i was like 9 and im 20 now. my gf had dpdr as well and that basically messed our whole relationship up, as well as attachment issues i have and fear of abandonment . does anyone know any new methods or cures???

Michael? This is Emma. Didn't know you had an account on here lol. I saw "complex ptsd" in the title and clicked and was like "Oh that's the guy of Live you now."

I'm sorry you're struggling. I don't know the answers either, but wanted to say hey. We should definitely talk soon :/

Unfortunately its all trial and error...

There is no definitve one size fits all "cure" .............We all have to just keep trialing stuff that helps us feel better until we find what works for each of us as individuals...

Where, what you said there reminded me of something someone posted:

1. I do not believe that everyone on this forum suffers from the same mental health problem. The disparity in etiology, symptoms, and effective treatments from person to person is too great to wrap it all snugly under the umbrella term of "Depersonalization Disorder." That is not to say that DPD doesn't exist, as it clearly does and clearly wreaks havoc on people's lives, but I think that the co-morbid disorders that come with it are the perpetuating culprits. For some of us, it's an anxiety disorder, or acute depression, or bipolar disorder, or PTSD, or HPPD, or schizophrenia*. Personally, I feel that my issue was a mix between PTSD and and HPPD, but regardless, the phrase "treatment resistant" does NOT mean untreatable. Keep trying new things.

I have a Harris Harrington once a day each morning...So relieving...Always feels like ive released so much pressure and stress....Its always a real load off my mind.... LMAO

I have signed up for more specialised therapy which is months away but hopefully that helps brings things up so I can process the trauma.

My point is I've seen dozens of people here say they have no trauma and a perfect childhood. I said that once and truly deeply believed it. The fact is, unfortunately, you just don't know that

I need to leave my home asap, because that probably contributes to my stress the most, but I am still faced with severe OCD and trauma symptoms which seem to trigger episodes of dpdr..

HH has a lot of good things in the program
I agree. I don't think people have an issue with the content, it's more about the whole business model and the expense.

Programmes are generally seen as exploitative, given that people with mental health issues can often be on limited income. Some are fairly priced, but some cost hundreds. How much is HH's programme these days?

I always recommend Evolving Self Confidence by Terry Dixon as an affordable paperback alternative for the issues HH addresses.

An EEG solved my riddle, which is why I think everyone should get one. I read a lot of posts with symptoms very similar to mine - ptsd, panic, depression, anxiety, insomnia, existential depression, body tingles, head fog, migraines, vestibular issues, tremors etc.

Part and parcel of an epileptic syndrome.

Im sorry you are struggling. And losing a relationship to this is pretty rough. Ive been in a similar situation myself.

I dont know what those things youve tried entail but have you tried meditations? Even if you have tried, it usually takes getting into the habit of doing it for you to see improvement at least in your mood. I listen to ones on youtube at nighttime and sometimes practice it myself when alone. Its at least helped me reduce my stress and helps me sleep which in turn has helped reduce my dpdr to some degree. May not work for everyone but thats one of my suggestions.
