My goal -- 2014 is to speak to Active Minds groups, and talk about depersonalization and anxiety -- so many of us suffer in silence -- that has to stop.
Please view and share this video:

I dropped out of my undergraduate program for one year and feared I would not be able to return.

This would not have happened if a group such as Active Minds had been present on my campus. I subsequently aggressively sought help on my own and graduated with a BA and an MA.

Not all students are so fortunate; some never return to school and approximately 1,100 university students commit suicide each year due to depression and other serious mental health issues such as OCD, bipolar, and schizophrenia to mention a few. Early intervention is KEY to recovery, especially if it comes from even one peer who understands exactly what you're going through.

Active Minds is the nation's only organization that uses the student voice to change the perception about mental health on college campuses.

Consider helping with my fundraiser -- NO amount is too small; you can donate online or I can take checks.
Contact me at [email protected] if you wish to send a check and I will process it for you.

Thanks,
Sandy

bump ... I beg of you young people to watch this.

If you are in school these student run groups are where you can turn to for help -- OTHER STUDENTS who have all sorts of problems who can help you. A wonderful organization. Over 400 chapters at colleges/universities/even high schools across the US and Canada.

THERE IS HELP. This is free. I want to help young people as I never got help until YEARS after I needed it.

Bump, this is too important for individuals not to look into.

Check at your university/college to see if you have this group. Peers who have their own struggle with all illnesses you can talk to. SO valuable. And again, I wish I had this when I was in university in the late '70s/early '80s.

Just watch the video. 5 minutes.
