Many have all sorts of physical symptoms, I have only one and it's this funny feeling in my chest. It's like someone was pressuring it constantly or had placed a pile of stones on top of it. Whenever I'm just about to experience some sort of emotion, I can feel how something just doesn't give in, and this something seems to situate in my chest. And I also seem to breath really superficially.Of course I know the problem is not in my lungs or heart but in my brain. Anyone else have this?

i used to have this a lot at the beginning, it's a common anxiety symptom. try to slow down your breath, and breathe from your stomach not chest. superficial breathing causes low levels of oxygen in the body which can lead to all kinds of aches 'n pains, and more lightheadedness/DP. -ru

yes yes yes yes yes!!! My heart and chest is the core root which dragged me into my dp hell. I suffer from heart palpitations, totally harmless as i have been assurred by 2 seperate cardiologists, but they still play havoc with my anxiety.

The feeling of breathing superficially i can also relate to, and the pressure in/on the chest i suffer from most of the day. As long as you know there is nothing wrong with your heart then there is nothing to worry about, its just another symptom of anxiety, but it may be worth getting it checked out just to be sure.

I often manage to fool myself into thinking i am having a heart attack, my whole chest muscles tighten and vibrate during acute anxiety attacks which i often suffer at night.

im not sure how many other people suffer this symptom, but rest assured you are not alone.
