Has anyone been on Celexa and switched to Lexapro or vice versa? What differences did you notice in the two meds? I'm going to try to come off Celexa in a couple of months but if it doesn't work out I may try Lexapro. Both me and my mom gained weight on Celexa (maybe it was from diet changes, maybe the med, but I'm tired of not being able to lose this weight). She has lost a ton of weight on Lexapro, again it could be related to other factors. She's always been pretty thin anyway. But the fact remains I weigh more than I ever have in my life right now and I would like to go ahead and be able to lose this weight. I feel unhealthy.

I've gone from Celexa to Lexapro with no problems or changes whatsoever. As far as I know, lexapro is just the isolated isomer that works as an SSRI. Celexa contains both the functional and non-functional isomer.

Yes I am. Again, I haven't really felt any difference from the switch.

My doctor told me that she feels that lexapro is less sedating than any of the other ssris. Most of her patients that did a x-over from celexa to lexapro didnt seem to be tired all the time anymore. Because the inactive side is "hacked off" you are supposed to get less side effects also. I will say tho that lexapro didnt make me feel sleepy but it seemed to give me alot of sexual side effects.

Yeah I think Celexa makes me tired during the day. Celexa and Paxil gave me sexual side effects, but Paxil was way worse.

i dont think taking any ssri for the purpose of losing wieght is a good idea. the only thing thats every worked for me in that department is laying off the hagendaz and sweat. besides.. whats the point of being skinny and hot when you cant even use it? for guys it means limp noodlitis, and for girls it means numb vagininosis.

stick with trimspa baby.

I'm not trying to go on something to make me skinny, I'm trying to go off of something that's making me fat. On Lexapro my mom just lost the weight that Celexa put on (We haven't determined whether she was just eating more those couple of years or if it was the Celexa). But she was always thin and got downright fat on Celexa. But I think maybe it makes you just more hungry and you eat more. As for the sexual side effects, Celexa isn't too bad. I feel like the sexual side effects have subsided since when I first started taking it. It's been about two years on the Celexa.

wellbutrin is supposed to have the opposite effect. some people take it for weightloss.. ive been taking it for 6 months now and i feel no effects in any department whatsoever. for me its useless.. if anything its made me more depressed. who knows.

The whole med thing is driving me crazy anyway. I wonder why ssris' have so many weird side effects and benzos don't (apart from addiction of course). If I ever can find a good time I'm gonna come off all this stuff. I'm aiming for this Summer after I graduate.

Actually, the side effects for benzos were too harsh for me to continue their use. Everyday after taking a mere .5 mgs of clonezepam, i'd feel hungover and the dp and dr were still there, i just didn't care as much.

I'm taking Wellbutrin to save my peepee from danger but i'm afraid of the anxiety it may cause me to be on it.

i wish someone had told that to the hives(some the size of dinner plates) that covered my body and the fact that every time i try one i end up the queen of the zombies. benzos suck d1ck. :x
