She might have a bad tooth (or a little mouth/gum sore). If a doggie is eating good, but seems to be avoiding HARD things, that's usually the reson. Try tempting her with broth or a SOFT bite of chicken or something, and if she scarfs that down just fine but still rejects the bone, it's probably that she's protecting her mouth/teeth because something doesn't feel right to her.
Wait a week or so and then see if she's in the bone mood. Just like people, doggies have their good/bad moments, feeling good, feeling off, etc.
DOn't over-react to the "must clean the dog's teeth!" idea, lol...yes, it's ideal for a dog to eat good chewie things and work the tartar off, but it's not something that must happen daily.
ANd...my dog is very picky. Sometimes a particular bone, or taste just doens't appeal to them...they can be unbelievably choosey! Might I suggest you purchase a "pig's ear" from a pet store? Those are always a happy gift.
Love to Kipper,
