stop reading books and googling for topics about schizophenia or psycosis or any other serious mental condition ......i just read these posts now and again with members that have worked themselves up into a complete state because they think they have something other than typical dp symptoms..
im into my 14th year of this with a few years recovery inbetween and i am so mad at myself for the suffering i have caused myself by thinking i have/had something worse than i do....believe me if you read all these books and research mental illness like you are a shrink in trainning then your going to send yourself bonkers.....
ive wasted years of mental time on this crap and it just takes up alot of time and gets us no-where....reassurance is fine we all need someone to tell us 'its gonna be alright' but to be fair no-one on this forum is bonkers....a little 'out-there' but not bonkers

all in good faith

It's human nature to try and find out what's wrong with you, to get a label, a diagnosis - especially as DR/DP is so misunderstood, but I agree - pouring over mental health journals is self-defeating. It feeds our obsession and our fears.
