has anybody noticed this wicked experience before where its like you have insects or worms moving underneath the skin and all over the body because for me its been my scalp mainly and it gets very intense during the night like something is biting me and causes me to itch a lot unless this is just another component of severe anxiety that our body goes through during "flight or fight" responses???..im just curious if you guys suffered through anything bizarre like that when dp/dr spikes at its maximum levels

Are you on any meds? I've heard skin crawling can be a side effect of some meds like lamictal
no i had this feeling back in winter 2017 and its back with a vengeance again so its definitely not anxiety meds related and i havent been on any mood stabilizers since last august as ive been trying the natural approach to heal my depression and derealization episodes through other techniques like exercise and distractions but lately ive been slipping back into relapse of derealization full throttle and have other immune defiences like low testosterone, nutrional defiences (vitamin b12, d3 low) that arent helping me to recovery so much. My vision is sensitive to lighting and i have visual snow and visual disturbances along with constant ringing in right ear not too mention this adrenal fatigue from poor testosterone levels make me like im a 100 yr old grandpa dinosaur, Im at 174 from last total t check when a 36 year old should be at 650 for normal, so i basically feel like shit everyday despite the walking dead zombie ive become, my doctor is testing me for lyme disease because of my extensive symptoms that keep changing just to rule it out as my symptoms match that of a possible exposure to an infection

What have you been doing, smoking meth? This doesn't sound like DP at all, I'd see a doctor about this.
excuse me need to be sarcastic with me? no im as straight edge to the core and dont do any stupid habits like that plus id suggest you read into what lyme disease is capable of unleashing on the brain as bartonella which is a co infection of lyme can be responsible for many neurological experiences including derealization

check here from this guys post who had lyme and derealization induced...even physical causes can create disassociation episodes due to brain inflammation by bacteria

learn to read to dude before making comments,

thank you!

i kinda feel u, i think the best thing to do is just move past it, like once u get that feeling, just keep going about ur day, keep walking, keep doing whatever

if ur at a job and u feel like coming on, just continue to do what ur doing

i think embracing that feeling and moving on is a step of getting out of that feeling

u get what im saying?

like when i get anxiety

i kinda think, cool, ima do this anyway, get past this feeling, conquer,it, and maybe that is a step to getting better

The symptom of feeling bugs on or under the skin is called formication.

Causes of formication

Formication is the feeling of itching when there is no physical cause.

Several conditions can cause formication. They include:

I was taking large doses of Niacin, which is Vitamin B3. Medical studies show it is effective for lowering cholesterol. The only caution is that you must slowly ramp up your dose, and if you miss a dose, you must re-ramp.

If you don't, you run the risk of developing "flushing", which is an intense itching caused by constriction of blood vessels near the skin surface. The flushing only lasts a few minutes, but trust me....you never want to experience it.

If flushing is a type of formication, than the type of insect is the fire ant. I would recommend its use in torture. I also experienced gout using the Niacin, so I gave it up and went to a statin drug.
