Hi

Im wondering if anyone has breathing difficulties since having DP?

I know it can be related to anxiety etc, but i never had problems with breathing before i had DP

Its more like a numbness in my chest area like i cant feel any air getting in

im starting to wonder if its caused by something physical

Any advice would be appreciated

thanks :)

When I'm in important DP DR, I cannot feel myself breathing, and I have the impression that I don't really breath.
Exactly like if my lungs and chest were numb.
So I try to breath more and I hyperventilate  Haha...
And if I hyperventilate too much, I panick !

So thats why distraction is the key here, to minimise the growth of all this.

Thanks for the replies :p

yeah, distraction worked last night for me, cause ive been through 2 bad panics with it over 2 weeks , so id become sort of used to it.

i dont think my body is capable of anymore panic anyway ha ha .

I did notice that the more i thought the worse i got, but couldnt do anything about it , put its sort of improved now

i guess we just so on edge all the time and scared of 'lettting go' anyway with the thoughts so it becomes a habit

thanks guys

xx
