I'm not quite sure how to describe this. Sometime during the night or early morning while sleeping I had a quick disturbing sensation in my head. I'm not sure of the right words to describe it, maybe vibration, or electrical shock, or some type of spasm? Anyone know what this is or experience this?

Med disclosure: I'm on the 5th week of Lamicatal and have been taking Klonopin for over a year. I only take between .25 and .5 of Klonopin a day, usually at night to avoid nocturnal panic attacks (only ones I have). I'm seriouslly wanting to stop the Lamictal after this.

Thank you

I'm not on any medication and I'll often experience this sensation as I'm drifting off to sleep. The sensation is somewhat like a zap running from your head down through your neck, accompanied by a loud sound sometimes similar to a gun shot, or loud fizzing noise. Its apparently quite common and has been clinically termed nocturnal myoclonus.

Yes I've had the feeling before, I think a lot of people have. It is not the same, that is why I have such a difficult time describing it. It was most certainly a physical thing, not just psychological. But only in the head. And it was not while drifting off to sleep, I think it was in the early morning. I've never had a seizure, but was hoping someone who has could see if this sounds similar.
