Does anyone get wierd body feelings with dp attacks, or is just more the anxiety that causes them in me. I know part of it is from the panic attacks, but tonight i got really freaked out because i had an attack, and it seemed like, and seems like this sometimes, my brain is on fire, or getting hot, or something of the sort. Then I freak out that it's really a tumor or an aneurysm or something like that. It scares me, even though it happens every once in a while. Does anyone else also think that sometimes they feel like they have to constantly hold their sanity inside themselves, like invisible hands over their heads, for if they don't constantly watch it, it will float away? Although as my therapist once told me, if you are really insane or going insane, you don't really know you are insane or going insane. So i guess that's comforting? :? Anyway, just a late night post after the fear subsides from another attack.

Hi Peaceboy23!

These or/and other sensations are experienced by everybody who`s dealing with anxiety and panic attacks.
The brain itself doesn`t hurt. Migraine triggers initiate a wave of electrical activity across the brain that eventually reaches a remote part of the brain called the trigeminal nerve. There, substances called neuropeptides are released that cause blood vessels to swell and leak, spurring inflammation and migraine headache.

Take a look at this site: http://www.panic-attacks.co.uk/ I think it will help you. It helped me.

the mind has alot of power. This is a story i heard from my mother, it sounds sort of extreme, but i believe its entirelly possible.

Anyways, her friend told her that this young girl/woman got pregnant and decided to get an abortion. And after she regretted it so much, that she locked herself in her room or house for a while and had a breakdown. And then she got, i forget, whats it called when women go through midlife crisis and stop having periods?

Anyways, if it is true, its an example of how powerful the mind is. I don't mean to scare you but a more credible example is how depressed people have higher rates of heart disease. Try to find someway to relax. If you beleive you are gonna get an anueysm then you'll get more stressed and your blood pressure/heart rate will go up. If you mamage to get your mind off it, your body will thank you.

When it comes to Physical Feelings, I get alot of these when my DP.DR is at its peak, the most noticable sensation being a burning, tingling strain feeling on the back left side of my head which also travels down my neck.

I just put it down to the stress of all this. Hoping its nothing else more sinister.
