So for the past week EVERY NIGHT I wake up an hour or so after I fall asleep and I wake up confused and scared with thoughts rushing through my head pretty fast. I go into an anxiety mode where im so scared. It takes a while to wear off (usually wears off when i focus on something else like watching tv). But it only happens if i sleep before 4 am. Today i slept at 2 am or so and around 3:20am I woke up (scared, confused, blurry vision) This is getting annoying and scary. Has anyone ever experienced this? Sidenote: A while before this started happening I would have anxiety attacks most nights before i slept but never this.

Yep, I've had this quite often. It is really scary and is probably a symptom of depression, but really the best thing you can do is distract yourself immediately - I would play a video game for a little while - then just go back to sleep. Make it a habit. Don't give it any importance and the less it troubles you and the shorter it lasts.

I've had it but quite rare.

Here's a common thing that happens to me tho: While trying to fall asleep, do you ever "wake up" and you litterally don't know who or where you are? And i mean LITTERALLY, like it takes me 5 seconds before i know those things. Really bizarre. It usually happens if i go to bed but not properly tired yet.

At least i know im not alone and yes i have woken up not knowing ANYTHING for a good couple of seconds. But the couple of times i've had it, it usually only happens right when im falling asleep and i jolt awake in a memory wiped state, didnt know anybody else had that hapoen too and it is SCARY AS HELL.

EXACTLY. I fear just going to sleep due to those waking moments it makes me nervous and scared. When you wake up you forget everything you know and it takes a bit to remember and it messes with your vision to not knowing where you are those couple of seconds but it gets better after about an hour. As well dreams feel very real even if you don't remember them. It's quite frustrating and scary and do not wish this on anyone

Thats how i feel with vivid dreams feeling real. It comforts me to know there are others out there that actually KNOW EXACTLY what im going through and can speak from experience. I hope you get better. Hope we can ALL get better.
