Artificial lights

Hello,

Does anyone have a real problem with artificial lights? e.g. tube lights

I used to work in a typical office skyscraper and the tube lights absolutely ruined my experience. It was like the icing on a cake made of dp/dr. I used to get into work early to try and get a desk near a window with natural light.

Im sure working under artificial lights made me unreasonably tired by the end of the day.

I wore sunglasses everywhere because of this.
If its not natural bright sunlight I hate it....Artificial light plays havoc with my eyes...

Ive also always hated dull grey days and environments with poor lighting for as long as I can remember...Dulls my mood and makes me feel miserable...

S A D during the dark winter period is the norm for me....The difference in my mood during the long bright summer days and the long dark winter nights is chalk and cheese....
Ditto.
LEDs to the rescue! I have rewired and replaced all the flourescent fixtures in my house. I now have LED tubes which will last my lifetime, generate almost no heat, and beam beautiful white light into my living areas. I also replaced all incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs. I use less than 25% of the electricity I previously used for lighting. And yes, flourescent lighting in box stores induced quite a few panic attacks in my time. I expect in 20 years, flourescent will be totally replaced by LEDs. Isn't technology wonderful!

Im an Electrician and I can tell you that LEDs are the way forward....The light from them is much more natural....I replaced every bulb in our house with LEDs recently too...

They save you a fortune in the long run also...

You will also be contributing to a greener planet...

Not just me then !

It's unbelievable that dp/dr isn't more well known about by doctors.
Those type of lights in grocery store has always been an issue for me. After i started meds i can handle it and i actually enjoy it when i enter a grocery store. It's like a stimulus that i'm able to handle, which makes me more present. But that's only for the ten minutes i'm shopping. If i had to work 8h/day in a grocery store, i would probably lose my mind -.-
Yep, I try to avoid all stores really, I usually only shop online for this very reason. When walking around stores I feel off-balance and floaty. The people milling about, the products on the shelves, it all kind of comes at me and makes my head swim. I always felt worse when seeing doctors and psychiatrists about my DP too, and it took me a while to figure out it was due to the lighting in their offices.

Guys, if your laptops display affects you like it does me. I have a new app called FLUX installed (its free). It basically makes the light more comfortable for your eyes by removing blue light. I just leave the setting on all day and have found my display doesnt effect me as much.
