Hi Jill,

I had a serious head injury about ten years ago. I didn't have any symptoms of depersonalisation until about a year ago though, so I doubt the two are connected...!

Hi Julia
Thanks for replying, It seems to me that depersonalisation or derealisation is more widely spread than I thought, (usually thro drug abuse it would seem) not that I had ever heard of it before I fell...Mmm.
I trained as a psychologist so I rarely delved into psychiatry. So tell me, how does your family cope? This will be my third year with it now, however, I was not aware of my surroundings much before last year so I cant remember much...how about you tho...how do you cope?

All the best Jill :)

Hi jill,

My parents don't know - which is fine. I'm at university most of the time where I have a really good friend who always brings me back down to earth when I'm freaking out from DP.
Read my earlier post 'Triggers/Symptoms/Cures' for more on my story & how I usually deal with it. I think if more ppl knew that DP/DR existed as a classification theyd be a LOT more ppl on this forum. x

Best wishes

Julia xx
