There is no one size fits all with any medicine...Whether its to treat DP or a headcahe....What doesnt do squat for one person might just work wonders for another...

Unfortunately its total trial and error with meds when it comes to Depersonalization Disorder...

But yes some people do have alot of success with SSRIs....Others have success with Atypicals....Others have success with simple supplements....Its totally an individual thing.......Treating DP successfully with medicines is seriously under researched unfortunately.....

Ive had mixed success with SSRIs in the past. I had DP due to completely out of control anxiety and they really helped with this. This was 4 years ago and they allowed for complete recovery, it took about 4 months to really feel it though. However i did have a bad reaction to an SSRI last year that actually gave me DP. they really are trial and error

I had no benefits and a whole slew of side effects, brain zaps and complete sexual dysfunction to name a couple.

Each one affects you differently. In general, I think they work best if you specifically have depression. If you don't then it might not be worth going on them. If you find one that works for you, as a consequence your DP might improve. All about trial and error.
