When you start to come down from a night of alcohol your body experiences withdrawals....(Technically hangovers are alcohol withdrawals)
Now part of the withdrawal process is that alcohol is a depressant....Of course people will say "Im always happy and in a good mood when I drink...Im never depressed when I drink"
Thats not the problem.....The problem is the following days when the alcohol is leaving your system....You start to experience depressive (withdrawal) symptoms amongst others...
As Chicane already said throw DP and medications into the mix and its an absolute disaster waiting to happen....
The other thing we all need to do if we are taking meds of any kind is to read the damn labels...."AVOID ALCOHOL" is usually the first warning on the bottle...
We are all preconditioned to accept alcohol as harmless because its legal and socially acceptable....
Truth is alcohol is an extremely dangerous powerful drug....Just go to your emergency room at 3am on a sunday morning and look around at the amount of alcohol related injuries and illnesses.....Its reckoned here in ireland that 65% of all hospital admissions are alcohol related.....The other 35% are probably smoking related LOL...
Food for thought...Our hospitals are basically filled with illnesses caused by the two most socially acceptable drugs in the world...
