On Sunday evening, over the course of a few hours, I suddenly developed extreme detachment from my body. This is something I never experienced, it has all been thought-based and feeling detached from voice and face. I now feel like my whole body including head are foreign to me, and are autonomous. Has anyone else experienced a quick dramatic change like this? From DP to different / worse DP? I am not on any medication.

Yes,definiteley. My dp/dr changes all the time.. every month is different like really my dp/dr is progressively getting wors and worse. I’ve always dp/dr I guess my whole life but it was livable I felt myself. Now I am totally lost into the void if manifested itself into a very sick disorder. The DR is soooo bad no depth AT ALL. My head feels the same as you it’s so hard to describe,I also feel like I have character switches, like DID but I still notice them switches and I get spooked out about it like why am I behaving so different. i am messed up,but you’re not alone in this I have the same thing..I am not on any medication as well

Thank you. Yeah, I think that whatever DP symptoms I had, have triggered a new wave or "full form" of DP. I now feel out of control, robotic, dreamlike. I'll be on meds soon anyway

Very common!!!

You may have had an anxiety / panic attack that heightened the symptoms.....

Panic attacks come in different forms...Often the ones I have experienced with DP never had palpatations or thinking I was gonna die etc attached to them...Mine were more a sudden attack of Im going to just lose it and I often used to feel like I had left myself mentally...

The other thing people often say is that their surroundings suddenly started to feel odd...(This would be a sudden onset of detachment from everything around them) Instead of just feeling personally detached they start to feel detached from their environment...This is DP graduating into DR....Its all very very common with this condition...

To be honest I never ever underestimate the crap this condition can throw at us at any moment or time...It will create all kinds of weird disturbing symptoms to make you feel even more afraid....

Of course what happens then is the obsessive side kicks in even more and our thinking starts to turn to "This is it....Ive finally lost it" ....Hey presto!! more panic and fear to fuel the DP...

Its all part of the Anxiety, Panic, Fear, DP merry go round we all struggle to jump off....

Ok, well at least it's common. Such a mad web of possibilities. I still have the new symptoms, but my mood has improved considerably. I reduced oxalates from my diet several days ago, and it has helped remarkably. My friend said I was a different person today. Great, until I am alone in my room and feel like my body is evaporating..
