I love video games, and I want to be a video game designer; specifically the person who designs character art. I love drawing. :p

I go to a tech/vocational high school, and I'm studying graphic arts there to help me learn Photoshop skills and such. I hope to become one of the best game designers ever. I know it's a lot of work, and I know not to be arrogant, but if I try hard enough, I can make my dream a reality. :D

Anyone else here a gamer, or wish to join the industry? :)

Computer games are pretty bad for DP i have found.
Now that I'm pretty much over the DP/DR I'm still really uncertain about me and video games....

I was soooooooooooooooooo much into video games before the DP/DR hit really bad...... I'm planing on buying a PS3, and by that time I expect my life to being going that much better by the time PS3 is released...

Sorry for the long answer but, yes I love videos games

I find my patience is much less the older I get. I just want to play and win, and not have to do anything boring inbetween. For instance, I can play Tony Hawks til the cows come home if it's just doing tricks and getting good scores. Used to love Mario kart and Gran turismo too.

And yes, computer games can induce altered states of consciousness because of the visual affects that mimic the trance state and kind of 'induce it'. Also strobe lighting is a trigger.

Big Gamer, well was.

Atari, NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis / Sega CD, Sega Saturn, PS1 and XBOX (2).

Never got into the PS2 or Gamecube. Skipping PS3 (hate sony) when it comes out but will pick up an XBOX 360 and Nintendo Revolution as soon as the prices drop.

PC: FPS: I was a BIG time Half Life 1 player (98-2004). Very good in deathmatch. HL2, I wasn't a fan of but still occasionally play CS Source and Day of Defeat Source.

RTS: ALL Age of Empires, Starcraft, Warcraft, Rome: Total War.

I play games with my bro ( 28 ) from time to time. He'll come over once every 2 months on the weekend or I go there. We play XBOX / drink :)
He's much better on consoles then I am. He kills me in almost any game.
The only games I'm guaranteed to win are sports. Hockey especially :) Needless to say since he's my older brother, we never play hockey.

Gaming was a huge part of growing up for me but is slowing down BIG time..I still play when I get the chance but typically I'm either working or my girl is around.

Some of my favorite games are The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Metroid Prime...there are so many games that I love! It'd take a while to list them all! :p

My favorite series is probably Zelda, and I also love Mario, Sonic, Metroid, etc.

Yes! I love video games. I grew up with the Commodore 64. I adore this home computer. It ran at almost one megahertz(!), and had some amazing games. I've been thinking of buying one on Ebay lately. Lets see....after my parents loosened up we got a regular Nintendo. Kirby's Dreamland on it was great, and of course, the original Super Mario Bros. Then we upgraded to a SuperNintendo. That is my favorite system of all time. Legend of Zelda : A Link to the Past, Super Mario Kart, Yoshi's Island, Super Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back....I spent some great summer vacations exploring those games. Then we got an N64...nice, but not as nice. Super Mario 64 was great. Have played the PS1 and PS2.....I dont like the PS1 at all, PS2 has some okay games. The thing that piques my interest about the Nintendo Revolution is twofold: (1) First of all, its backward compatible. You can play Gamecube DVDs on it as well as downloading all prior Nintendo games, from the original NES right through the N64, for .99 cents a piece. (2) The controllers will be augmented by sensors which will attach to the side of your television. When you move the controllers in front of your screen, they will record up, down, side to side, and most importanly, forward and backward motions. Imagine ACTUALLY swinging a sword in Zelda. Nintendo has been searching for another original idea for a while, and I think they've found it.

I also used to love to program on my Commodore 64. I was alright, but I could make some mean text adventures in Basic.

Peace

I was hooked on this game for a while:

and was embarrassingly good at it; now I like Sims. So I guess my answer is really "no," since I only play Sims much.

After Donkey Kong never played another game

I'm trying to avoid getting my son one as I'd rather he go outside and ride his bike and play with the kids in the neighbourhood. But no doubt he will wan't one soon. I might be a little interested then. I almost started Simm City but I saw many people spending sh*t loads of time on that game and decided against it. Got other things to do.

If it helps to distract you from DP/DR go for it.

I don't really play any video games except for one. But that one game i love obsessively, and have been known to quite literally spend entire days playing it. And tomorrow, the new version comes out for it and i'm about as excited as a schoolboy on christmas eve. That game, in case anyone is wonering, is Civilization, and the fourth version is being released tomorrow.
